Dr. Kellen Matsuno

Hi, I’m Kellen, doctor of physical therapy and strength and conditioning coach. My aim is to be a guide for all athletes at all stages of function. Youth or professional, rehabilitation or performance focused. I want to provide you with concise and actionable care to help you consistently improve toward your goals.

As a prior athlete I was always in and out of rehabilitation. I appreciate the physical and psychological fluctuations that occur throughout a career of competition. For me, on some days I flowed. I felt unstoppable. My mind and body were in sync, everything was smooth, easy, and effortless. On other days, especially following an injury, everything felt like a grind. I was expending greater amounts of energy while producing worse results. I questioned my capabilities and felt like I was no longer in control of my body or outcomes. Fortunately for me, these injuries lead me to a couple of unbelievable clinicians, one of whom I’m still in contact with to this day. My relationships with these clinicians really transcended the common physical components of rehab and truly brought me back to a form I was proud of.

Rehabilitation is HARD. And unless you have been through it before nothing can quite prepare you. The physical demand is always challenging, and the psychological stress is exhausting to say the least. But you are not alone here. Today, it is my passion to work with athletes transitioning through rehabilitation. It is my goal to create a partnership, equipping you with the physical and psychological tools needed to take ownership of your situation. In my eyes, nothing is more powerful than knowing you have the capacity to control your own outcome. I take pride in building a trustworthy, accountable partnership and feel privileged to impact your journey like the outstanding professionals who looked after me.
